Constellation Chronicles Author Vincent Lowry

In addition to Constellation Chronicles, Vincent Lowry has published several poems and short stories in a wide array of magazines. He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife and son.

His blog, Rate My Book Video, invites authors from all genres to post links to their book videos/trailers so viewers can provide feedback. Dozens of writers have contributed to the site, making it one of the largest forums for viral book video marketing.

Vincent Lowry is the author of Constellation Chronicles, the #1 tagged book on Amazon's Fiction Community. He was born in Albuquerque, N.M., and currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife and son.

Vincent also runs a blog http://ratemybookvideo.wordpress.com that encourages new authors to post their book trailers/videos for feedback from viewers. He also manages a Goodreads group (http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/2698...) that connects readers with authors.

V. Richardson:
Please tell us about your novel, Constellation Chronicles. What would like for readers to take away from this read?

V. Lowry: Perhaps the best way to tell you about my novel is to give the book's synopsis:

A blinding fireball rips across the night sky and slams into a field in the remote town of Rigel, New Mexico. Glenn Sawyer, a broke and disillusioned 18-year-old, witnesses and investigates the crash, finding a surreal craft and an even stranger monkey-like creature named Paako, who secretly follows him home and stirs up trouble. As Glenn captures Paako and attempts to return her to the crash site, he discovers unexpected company, and learns that his remarkable journey--filled with adventure, evil, and a cast of captivating characters--has only just begun. I would like readers to simply escape their day-to-day routine for a while. If the book achieves this goal, then I'll be happy.

V. Richardson: What have you discovered about yourself on your journey to publication?

V. Lowry: I've discovered that marketing takes as much work as writing. If you want to succeed as an author, it's not enough to simply write the book and then kick back and expect people to find it. As with writing, you have to put in the effort.

V. Richardson: You have a group on Goodreads, a social and networking site, what is about and how and where can readers and authors join?

V. Lowry: My group on Goodreads is called Goodreads Author/Readers: http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/2698...
It’s about bringing authors and readers together in one forum to discuss books, poetry, and short stories. It’s fairly new, but so far it has some 300 members.

I also run a blog that invites authors to post their book videos/trailers for viewers to see and rate: http://ratemybookvideo.wordpress.com/
Close to a hundred authors have contributed to the site, making it one of the largest forums dedicated to viral book video marketing. It's a great way to sit back and preview novels.

V.Richardson: What advice would you offer aspiring authors?

V. Lowry: The best advice I can offer is to keep reading and writing. If you do both of these things on a consistent basis, you’re bound to get better at your craft. It might take years of rejection, and it might be difficult at times, but persistence is the only way to succeed.

V. Richardson: Are there any forth coming projects readers should look forward from you?

V. Lowry:Yes, about a year or two down the road, my readers can expect the next installment in the Constellation Chronicles series—Taurus. I also hope to republish a few short stories of mine that appeared in ezines and local magazines.

V. Richardson: How can readers contact you?

V. Lowry:The best way is by befriending me on Goodreads (search for Constellation Chronicles to find my name) and sending a friend request. We can then keep in contact via email.

V. Richardson: Thank you Vincent for such an informative interview. As always in closing, keep inspiring as you aspire!
